We’re Michelle and Boo, a mother-and-daughter venue styling team who love bringing weddings and events to life. We’d like to say a huge welcome and thank you for being here!
Something New
Let’s just say we are beyond excited to launch our rebrand this week… It’s been five years in the making, after all!
When we took over Blue Sky China & Bunting, we worked with established event styling methods and enjoyed providing reliable results for our loyal clients. But we knew we had so much more potential. New ideas began to bubble. Each wonderful event we decorated over the following five years helped us evolve. We discovered joy in immersive styling and confidence in our unique venue decorations. For us, that time for growth and reflection is something we’ll always be grateful for.
Finally, we were ready! Project ‘rebranding’ began. And, as is our nature, we wanted to get the little details right – from the name, to our brand voice, to our website. Bonny and Clyde Design were brilliant partners on our journey. We worked closely together with them to create a brand that is true to us.
Kanga and Roo was born.
Why Kanga and Roo?
It’s a fresh start for our business, but the name ‘Kanga and Roo’ has deep roots.
We started the business shortly after Boo’s gorgeous son, Arnie, was born and would take turns carrying him in a sling as we created wedding backdrops and table centrepieces, joking about kangaroos. Australia’s atmosphere and colours have always had a special place in our hearts as our brother/uncle and his family live there. We love visiting Australia and travelling to other countries, picking up creative ideas and inspiration for event décor from the natural world.
When we rebranded and thought about our love of decor that reflects nature’s beauty, we realised a free-spirited name was essential to us. The name Kanga (Michelle) and Roo (Boo) represents our devotion to memorable event styling and design and celebrates our intuitive mother-daughter bo

Everyone deserves that magical ‘wow’ moment when they see their event venue dressed in all its glory. But it can feel overwhelming when you’re considering how to style your event. How do I choose a theme? Which colours go with that theme? And what on earth are focal points?
We want to help!
We’ll post a regular blog to showcase the gorgeous events we decorate in 2025. We’ll also share some helpful hints and tips for DIY venue decoration ideas. It’ll be a beautiful mix of inspiration and practical advice from our years of experience, so look out for our next post!
